The Amateur Championship

The Amateur Championship is one of the biggest and most prestigious amateur events, providing an international platform for up-and-coming younger players.

Contested over stroke play and then match play, this Championship makes an exciting watch as participants play to secure exemptions into The Open and the US Open, and by tradition, an invitation to play in the Masters Tournament. The 130th Amateur Championship will be played at famed south-east English venues Royal St George’s – host to The Open on 15 occasions – and Royal Cinque Ports from 16–21 June, with a pre-qualifier at the latter on 13 June.
