Internships - USA

IMG's world-class Internship Program attracts thousands of candidates from around the world every year. Intern placements are based on candidate qualifications and IMG's current business needs. Interns are typically exposed to the day-to-day operations of specific departments, as well as general office procedures. Depending on the office location or division, interns may also be involved in locally sponsored IMG events.

Now in its twentieth year in the U.S., the IMG Internship Program attracts more than 1,500 applicants a year. The majority of our internships are located in Cleveland and New York, however, we also take interns in our other U.S. offices (see office locations for a complete list). Intern placements are based on candidate qualifications and IMG's current business needs.

Summer Intern Program

The summer program is a full-time, 40hr per week program that runs for eight weeks. Summer program interns will have several social activities scheduled throughout the summer. Executive Speaker Days will include various department personnel discussing their own IMG experiences, while also allowing the interns to participate actively in group discussions with the executives.

The 2014 Summer Internship Program runs from June 2 – July 25, 2014.  The deadline for resume submissions is January 31, 2014.

Non-Summer Semester Program Information

IMG also offers internships during the fall and spring semesters. These internships are part-time and typically last four months.

The 2013 Fall Internship Program runs from September –December 2013. The deadline for resume submissions is June 28, 2013.

The 2014 Spring Internship Program runs from January –May 2014. The deadline for resume submissions is October 31, 2013.

Application Process

A cover letter and resume will serve as the formal application to the program.  Applicants should specify in cover letter any preferences with regard to department placement or office location.  Requests will be taken into consideration during the placement process, but there are no guarantees that applicants will be placed in their department or office location of choice.

For the summer program, candidates will be notified by mail in late February if they have been selected for an interview. All interviews take place during the month of March in Cleveland, New York or via the telephone (for those unable to attend a personal interview in either city). Final decisions and selection notifications are made by mid-April.

We respond to all resume submissions. For this reason, and due to the high volume of applications we receive each year, we ask that you not call IMG to follow up on our receipt of your resume.

Expenses

IMG will not be responsible for any travel expenses incurred during the interviewing process, or actual fees incurred throughout the summer such as housing, meals or parking.

Eligibility Requirements

All intern positions are non-paying. Academic credit should be received for the internship experience from a university or graduate school in lieu of compensation. This can be a formal course credit, or extra credit that a specific professor is willing to provide. IMG requires confirmation of academic credit eligibility before granting an applicant an interview. Preferred candidates should be in junior standing or in graduate/law school.
